Nintendo and Niantic’s Pokemon GO spin-off mobile title has seen no shortage of events, and the team behind the game is gearing up for its upcoming “Crackling Voltage” event, which runs from Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time. As per the game’s official post:
“Trainers,
Things are about to get electric with the Crackling Voltage event! Electric-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild, and Trainers can look forward to the Legendary Pokémon Tapu Koko, a guardian deity of the Alola region, returning in Five-Star raids. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Helioptile and Shiny Tapu Koko—if you’re lucky!
We have also received reports that Team GO Rocket might try to spark some trouble with new Shadow Pokémon soon. Stay alert, Trainers!”
The event has a special emphasis on electric-type Pokemon, and species including Magnemite, Electrike, and Blitzle (to name a few) will be encountered more frequently, alongside legendaries such as Tapu Koko and Registeel during raids.
Players will also have a chance to take on Team Rocket during the Team GO Rocket Takeover, which runs on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 5, at 11:59 p.m. local time.
