Samsung might skip the Galaxy S24 Plus model in 2024
Every year Samsung launches multiple models of its Galaxy S series of flagship handsets. This includes the base model, the Plus model, and the Ultra model, but come 2024 that could change.
According to a report from The Elec, it seems that Samsung might be looking to skip out on launching the Galaxy S24 Plus model in 2024. This means that we would only have the base model and the Ultra model. It seems that the sales of the Galaxy S22 Plus are to blame where they accounted for about 18% of the total sales of the Galaxy S22 lineup.
In a way we can’t say we’re surprised. The base model has price going for it, where users who wanted a flagship model but pay less could always opt for it. The Ultra model would then appeal to those who were willing to spend, while the Plus kind of sits in an awkward spot where it’s not exactly the cheapest, nor does it have the best specs compared to the Ultra.
Samsung isn’t alone in this struggle. Even companies like Apple are also finding it hard to try and sell the middle models, where there have been reports that the iPhone 14 Plus isn’t selling as well as Apple would have liked. In any case, 2024 is still a long ways to go so take this with a grain of salt for now.
