The Pixel 7a could come with a RAM upgrade

0

RAM is an important component when it comes to smartphones and computers. This is because RAM is what helps apps run in the background so that whenever you switch between apps, it won’t have to reload from scratch.

Of course, how much RAM is necessary will depend from user to user, where those who don’t really use a lot of memory intensive apps probably won’t need as much compared to those who do, but that being said, having more RAM isn’t a bad thing, and that is something Pixel 7a customers can look forward to.

In a video posted by a Vietnamese tech blogger onto Bilibili, they have somehow managed to get their hands on what appears to be the Pixel 7a by Google. Google has yet to officially announce the phone so presumably what they have here is a prototype. According to the video, it seems that the Pixel 7a will come with 8GB of RAM instead of the 6GB on the Pixel 6a.

It is also reported that the RAM is made by Samsung and will be of the LPDDR5 variety. The phone also appears to have been remotely locked by Google so we can’t be sure of the full contents of the phone, but the Fastboot did reveal the RAM at the very least.

At the moment there is no word on when the Pixel 7a is expected to be announced, but given that the Pixel 6a debuted mid 2022, we can only assume the same for the Pixel 7a.
