TCL 40 SE

TCL’s latest smartphone is not only affordable, but it comes with a long-lasting battery

Flagship smartphones usually pack all the latest and greatest tech, but it also usually comes with a hefty price tag to match. Thankfully as technology advances, some of the flagship features trickle down to lower-end models, so if you’re looking for a new phone that won’t cost you an arm and leg, TCL might have something for you.

At CES 2023, the company has announced a new smartphone in the form of the TCL 40 SE. The handset will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset and will come with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of EMMC memory. There is also a microSD card slot so you can expand on that if you want.

The phone will also feature a 6.75-inch Mini-Notch display with a 90Hz refresh rate featuring TCL’s NXTVISION technology, and will boast a 90% screen-to-body ratio. There is also a 5,010mAh battery with support for fast charging.

As for the cameras, the TCL 40 SE will pack a 50MP main shooter with a 1/2.55-inch sensor and an aperture of f/1.8. The phone will sport a triple camera setup so accompanying the 50MP sensor there will be a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera to round things off, with an 8MP front-facing shooter.

If you think that the TCL 40 SE could be the phone for you, it will be available in Europe Q1 2023 starting at $169, with more regions to follow.
