This crazy mechanical keyboard comes with a built-in video display

0

In the custom mechanical keyboard scene, there are some keyboards that come with small OLED displays which are honestly more novel than useful, but it looks like the folks at Finalmouse have decided to take things to the next level with their latest mechanical keyboard, the Centerpiece.

What makes this keyboard different is that there is a built-in video display underneath the keys of the keyboard. This means that while you type, a video can actually be played in the display to create all kinds of cool and nifty effects, like in the video below where you can have koi fish swimming around giving off a zen vibe, or displays of explosions everytime you press a key. This is combined with the clear keycaps that let you see through the keys.

Finalmouse has also teamed up with the folks at Gateron to create a set of switches for the keyboard that are also transparent. According to the company, users will also be able to download new skins when they become available through the Finalmouse Steam App, so there should always be something new to look forward to.

In terms of price, the Centerpiece is expected to be priced at around $349 when it launches in 2023. It is not cheap, but it will most definitely be a conversation piece.
