Despite all the advancements we’re seeing today in smartphone chipsets, displays, and cameras, if there is one thing that hasn’t quite evolved with the times would be the battery. Till today we are still using lithium ion as the battery of choice, which is fine for the most part, but we’re sure many users would love to see phones with batteries that can last longer, not just in terms of usage, but also cycles.
While we’re still waiting for the battery revolution to begin, we suppose users have to take comfort in fast charging tech, and the good news is that if you’re the owner of a Huawei P50 Pro, the company has pushed out an update for the phone that will introduce Turbo charging for the handset.
This update comes in the form of the HarmonyOS 3.0.0.190 update, so check your phone’s firmware version to double check to make sure you’ve updated already, if not you should. At the moment, the Huawei P50 Pro supports 66W wired charging. We’re not sure how much of a difference the new Turbo charging mode will bring to the table, but if you’re the type that frequently takes advantage of fast charging, then this could be something to look forward to.
The update will also introduce the December 2022 security patch and will weigh in at around 1.15GB, so make sure you’re connected to the WiFi and power before you start downloading the update.
