Google is making its smart speakers work better with its Pixel phones

0

As smart as our devices are, sometimes it feels like they are quite independent on each other. Take for example our smart speakers which exist by itself, and then our phones, which exists as a separate device, but that’s something that Google is looking to change.

It appears that in a new update, Google has made the integration and synchronization between its smart speakers and Pixel phones a little bit better. This change can be found in the At A Glance widget on the Pixel device.

What this change brings to the table is that when you use the smart speaker to set a timer, for example, instead of having to ask the speaker how much time is left on the timer, which can be inconvenient if you’re in another room, you can simply look at the widget on your Pixel phone.

This also means that users will be able to control their timers on their Pixel phones, so if you want to cancel it early, you can, without having to go back to your smart speaker and issue the command again. It’s not the biggest update in the world, but it’s a really good quality of life update that we’re sure some users can appreciate.
