Google Messages iMessage Reactions Old

Google Messages will soon let you react using any emoji

One of the features Google introduced to Google Messages comes in the form of emoji reactions. This allows users to react to messages using a set of emojis so that instead of typing a reply, users can react non-verbally with an emoji instead. This can be handy if you don’t want to type out a reply like “lol”.

Now, prior to this, users could only choose from a set of emojis, which for the most part is more than sufficient for most users. But now according to a report from 9to5Google, it appears that Google is now testing out allowing users to react to Messages using any emoji that they want.

This means that if the default set of emojis isn’t enough to convey your message or if you want something fun, then this is a feature you can look forward to. Google won’t be the first to introduce the feature. It is already available on other messaging platforms like WhatsApp where users can choose any emoji they want, but if you use Google Messages more, then this could be something you can use in the future.

There’s no mention of when this feature is expected to make its way to users, but seeing as it is being tested, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before it is eventually rolled out to the public.
