If you’re a fan of Capcom’s massively-popular Monster Hunter franchise, then you might be in luck – it looks like Capcom is bringing the series back to mobile devices via a new spin-off title, which is currently in development.
Capcom has partnered with Timi Studios for the development of the upcoming title, which was announced through an official press release. As per Timi Studios’ announcement:
“LOS ANGELES & TOKYO, November 8, 2022 – TiMi Studio Group (TiMi) and Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) are joining forces on a new mobile game for the iconic Monster Hunter series. The in-development game will reproduce the hunting actions that define the Monster Hunter series, and offers players a new game experience unique for mobile devices and phones.
This first-time partnership between TiMi and Capcom will combine the experiences and strengths of both sides, allowing Monster Hunter to scale to more platforms with an aim to give global hunters – experienced or new – the freedom to hunt as they desire, anytime and anywhere.”
The franchise is no stranger to mobile devices though, as Capcom has previously published spin-off titles for smartphone gaming platforms, including “Monster Hunter Stories,” which was originally launched on the Nintendo 3DS. As for the upcoming game, however, no specific details regarding the gameplay, pricing, and release date were given, so Monster Hunter fans looking for a new mobile excursion will have to wait a bit.
