We are just a few weeks away from one of the biggest sporting events worldwide i.e. FIFA World Cup. It is the most prestigious competition in soccer (football) and takes place every four years. A total of 32 national teams including the United States will have their eyes set on the big prize this year. It means you will have a chance to watch the world’s biggest soccer players including Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Lionel Messi (Argentina) play the game.
This year’s World Cup will take place in Qatar with the first match scheduled for November 20th. There are eight groups featuring four teams each. The top two from each group will qualify for the knockout stages. The American soccer team is in Group B where they will compete with England, Wales, and Iran for a spot to move to the next round. Some of its star players are Christian Pulisic (captain and winger), Sergino Dest (right back), Weston McKennie (Midfielder), Yunus Musah (Midfielder), and Ricardo Pepi (forward).
Fox Sports has the broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup in the United States. You will be able to enjoy all the matches on Fox Sports and FS1 in English. Telemundo will broadcast these matches in Spanish.

The knockout stage matches will begin with the Round of 16 matches between December 3rd and 6th. The quarter-finals will be held on December 9th and 10th. Next up, the semi-finals will take place on December 13th and 14th followed by a match for third place on December 17th. The much-awaited grand finale will take place on December 18th at 10:00 AM EDT.
