When you search for something on the internet, chances are you might open multiple pages from the results page to try to find what you’re looking for. The good news is that in the latest update to Chrome, Google has announced a new feature that should make it easier and save you some time.
This comes in the form of a new side panel where after you click one of the websites in the search results, you should see a new “Open search in side panel” button in the address bar. Clicking on it will bring up a side panel with the search results page, so if the page you clicked isn’t giving you the information you’re looking for, you can quickly click on the other pages to continue your search.
Prior to this, users would either need to remember to open websites in a new tab/page while keeping the search results page open, or they would need to hit the back button and wait for the results page to load again. For those trying to minimize the number of tabs they have open, this could be a useful feature and a quality of life improvement.
The feature should be live for users so make sure that you have the latest version of Chrome to take advantage of it.
