Following the launch of the Pixel Buds Pro and the Pixel 7 series smartphones, Google has finally given its Pixel Buds A Series an update in the form of a new color variant. The budget earbuds will now be available for purchase in a “Charcoal” model, making it the third variant in addition to the Clearly White and Dark Olive versions.
The earbuds will remain at the same price as the other two variants, and aside from a new look there won’t be any differences in terms of hardware specifications.
Launched last year, the Pixel Buds A come with Adaptive Sound features, which uses the microphones in the earbuds to analyze the sound levels of your surroundings. The sound is automatically adjusted to help mask external noises, a workaround for the lack of active noise cancelling on the earbuds. There are also quick charging capabilities as well as up to five hours of battery life, and the included case provides up to a total of 24 hours of usage. You don’t find wireless charging though, as Google had to cut corners to keep the price low.
With that said though, the newer Pixel Buds Pro come with an updated design and better noise cancelling, although they are a bit more expensive. For Pixel fans on a budget however, the A series buds are still a good way to complete your Pixel ecosystem.
