For those who have felt that the audio quality in the Pixel Buds Pro was a bit lacking and think that it could do with an upgrade, then you’re in luck. Instead of waiting for Google to release a new model with better audio quality, Google has pushed out a new firmware update for the wireless earbuds.
In this update, Google will finally be bringing its promised 5-band EQ that they had mentioned at the earbuds’ launch. This will give users more control over the sound from their earbuds, where they can now make adjustments across five frequency bands – Upper Treble, Treble, Mid, Bass, Low Bass.
Jam out your way.🎶
With 5-band EQ on #PixelBuds Pro, you can now customize your sound🔊 or choose between presets tuned by our audio engineers.

For those who aren’t familiar with how to tune an EQ or can’t be bothered to make these manual adjustments themselves, not to worry because Google will also be including six different presets that have apparently been tuned by Google’s audio engineers, so you get to choose from Default, Heavy bass, Light bass, Balanced, Vocal boost, and Clarity, depending on what you’re listening to.
These EQ adjustments and presets will be saved to your Pixel Buds themselves, meaning that if you use the earbuds between multiple devices like your phone, tablet, and computer, the EQ and presets will remain the same as you previously set. The update should be rolling out as we speak so keep an eye out for it.
