We’re not sure how many of you remember Microsoft’s attempts at creating their own smartphone operating system from way back in the day. While Windows Phone was kind of a flop, it never really felt like it was Microsoft’s fault, but rather the appeal and lure of iOS and Android was simply too strong.
There are many things to love about Windows Phone, such as its games, and if you did own a Windows Phone handset at some point in time, you might be interested to learn that in a post by developer Adorable_Signature68 on Reddit, it appears that they have created an emulator that basically lets you run some classic Windows Phone games on your Android device.
Now, it should be pointed out that this emulator is still in the early stages of development, but according to the developer, it seems that 15 out of the 33 games they have tested are running just fine. It could take a while to get the rest up and running, but 15 out of 33 is not too bad.
For those who might be keen to take this emulator for a spin, the details and the APK can be downloaded from GitHub right now. That being said, as with all sideloading of APKs and apps found outside of the Play Store, do proceed with caution and at your own risk.
