How to set a budget in the Google Play Store

The Google Play Store is getting some quality of life updates

To think that the Google Play Store is merely a storefront to apps would be doing it a disservice. It is essentially a hub that drives the Android ecosystem, a place for users to discover new apps, new games, buy TV shows, movies, and more.

This is why Google has been constantly updating it and making changes to it to make it a better place. In fact, Google has announced some quality of life changes that they will be making to the Play Store that users should keep an eye out for.

One of those changes is that the Play Store will now have a dedicated section that will make it easier for users to find apps that are non-Android. For example, if you wanted to find an app for your Wear OS smartwatch, or Android TV, or Android Automotive, all you need to do is navigate to the Play Store’s “Other devices” page and you should be able to find what you’re looking for.

Building upon that, Google is also introducing device filters. This is similar to what we mentioned above where users can filter the search results in the Play Store to make it specific to the devices that they have linked to their Google account. So if you’re trying to find a new app for your Wear OS smartwatch or your Android TV device, using these device filters will make it a lot easier.

Last but not least, Google is also introducing the ability to remotely install apps to other devices. Say you’re on your phone browsing the Play Store and you want to install an app to your smart TV, so instead of loading it up on your TV which could be in another room, you can remotely install it so that you don’t have to distract yourself.

These changes should be going live as we speak, so keep an eye out for it if you think that some of these changes will be useful for you.
