Do you have a backyard that you use to host BBQs or have a pool that you hang out by in the summer? While hosting BBQs or lounging by the pool is pretty fun by itself, adding a TV could help make it even more fun as it adds a new form of entertainment.
You could have friends or family members come by to watch the game on, or catch a movie at night under the stars, and so on. Now, some of you might be thinking it might be as simple as buying a TV and sticking it out there, but there are certain things you have to consider.
This is because regular TVs were designed for the indoors, meaning that it might not hold up against the environment like harsh temperatures, rain, snow, and more, which is why if you’re looking for an outdoor TV, then Sylvox’s Deck Pro QLED might be a TV set worth checking out.
According to Sylvox, the Deck Pro QLED features an IP55 rating. This means that it is both resistant to water and dust. While we wouldn’t recommend you placing the TV right at the edge of the pool or keeping it completely exposed, its IP55 rating means that getting it a bit wet from splashes from the pool or if it rains and the wind blows some water on the TV, you don’t have to worry about it fritzing out on you, and its anti-scratch technology also helps prevent damage to the display.
Sylvox also claims that the external components have been designed to be 100% protected from corrosion and will help prevent issues caused by moisture, dust, or oxidation from leaving it outdoors under the sun and rain. The Deck Pro QLED will also be able to withstand temperatures ranging from -22° to 122°F, and it also uses low-power lamp tubes to help keep the heat down even further to prevent potential overheating.
Its protection against the elements also means that it isn’t just for home use, but it can also be used by businesses who want to use a TV to help display menu items, promotions, and more at their shops.
It also has a 55-inch screen with a 4K resolution which is more or less the standard that we can expect from most modern TV these days. Also, thanks to the use of its QLED panel, it should be able to maintain its brightness, which tops out at 700 nits, over a longer period of time so that you can use it longer and not have to worry so much about getting it serviced or repaired as often.
It boasts an impactful bass and has a high enough volume so that even in the outdoors, you should be able to enjoy good quality sound. Speaking of speakers, Sylvox is also offering a waterproof soundbar just in case you need a boost in audio quality. The soundbar offers 120W peak power and has an IP65 rating along with Bluetooth connectivity, so you can connect your phone or laptop to it if you want.
It also comes with Alexa integration which means that things that you normally would do with an Echo speaker or Echo smart display, you can do with the Deck Pro QLED. There is also support for screen casting which means that you can cast content from your screen onto the TV, so if you want to share photos or videos from your phone to the TV, you can do so wirelessly.
The included remote also has support for its own digital assistant, so you can use your voice to control and navigate the TV if you find that easier.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on the Deck Pro QLED TV, it is currently on Indiegogo where it is seeking funding. At this time of writing it looks like it has already met its goal, but if you want to pre-order it, you can still go ahead and do so.
The Deck Pro QLED is priced at $1,699 for Super Early Birds which is a 29% discount off its normal price. There is also an option for the full kit which comes with the TV, a wall mount, extended warranty, and the soundbar for $2,398 which is 40% off its asking price.
