How to change the vibration strength on Android

0

All phones vibrate, but did you know that on Android, you can actually adjust the strength of the vibration? For those wondering why this might be important, it is because sometimes, the vibration might be too low for you to notice that you have an incoming call or message while the phone is in your pocket or bag.

Or in some cases, it might be too strong where if you left it on your desk, it would cause the desk to rattle and make a very loud sound. This might be a bad thing if you’re in a public setting like a library, in class, or at a meeting. If you think that your phone’s vibration is too strong or too weak, don’t worry, you can adjust it and here’s what you need to do.

Adjust vibration strength on Android

  1. Launch your phone’s Settings
  2. Look for the section that says “Sounds and vibration” (this might be called something else depending on your phone’s UI) and tap on it
  3. Scroll down and tap “Vibration intensity”
  4. You should now see a couple of sliders, one for call vibration and one for notification vibration, slide the sliders accordingly

The difference between the settings means that you can have different vibration strength for different situations, so if you want to make sure that you don’t miss any calls when your phone is silent, you can max out the call vibration strength, while keeping notifications for messages, emails, and social media lower to prevent distractions.

That being said, seeing as different handsets come with different vibration motors, some might be stronger or weaker than others, so these settings will help you fine tune it to your needs, so it might be worth checking out if you’re someone who constantly keeps their phone on silent mode.
