Usually when it comes to Chrome OS based computers, it comes in the laptop form factor, but if you’re more of a desktop kind of user, then you might be interested in checking out Lenovo’s ThinkCentre M60q Chromebox.
This is a Chrome OS based computer that Lenovo has designed to be small and lightweight to the point where you can easily mount it on the back of a monitor, under the table, or even on the wall. Despite its small stature, the ThinkCentre M60q Chromebox is no slouch. Under the hood, it can be configured to be powered by Intel’s 12th Gen Core i5 processor and it will also support wireless connectivity like WiFi 6E.
Also, seeing as how the device was designed for enterprise use in mind, Lenovo has also included security features like the Lenovo ThinkShield and Google’s Titan C security chip, resulting in encryption, safe browsing, sandboxing, and more.
But if you’re after more of a Chrome OS laptop experience, then you might also be interested in the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Chromebook. Featuring a 16-inch 2.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, it boasts 12 hours of battery life, two user-facing speakers tuned by Waves’ MaxxAudio, and WiFi 6E connectivity.
It will also be powered by an Intel 12th Gen Core i3 processor which isn’t the most powerful, but should be more than capable of getting the job done for basic tasks.
If you’re interested in either model, the Lenovo ThinkCentre M60q Chromebox Enterprise will be priced starting at $323 and will be available come February 2023. As for the IdeaPad 5i Chromebook, it will retail for €549 and is expected to be available in September 2022.
