Snapchat starts rolling out its new Dual Camera feature

In order to record yourself and the subject in front of you, you would require two cameras, but luckily our phones do come with dual cameras – one on the front and one on the back. The only problem is being able to utilize both at the same time, but the good news is that if you’re a Snapchat user, this will not be a problem.

Snapchat has recently started to roll out an update for the app in which it will introduce a new Dual Camera feature. As the name implies, this will allow users to capture video from both the front and rear-facing cameras simultaneously, so for example if you’re recording a vlog and you want to show what’s going on in front of you while getting your own reactions, then this is where the Dual Camera feature will come in handy.

According to Snap:

“Open your Snapchat and you’ll see a new icon in the camera toolbar. With one simple tap, you can start creating Snaps and Stories, or more polished Spotlight videos, with double the perspective. Dual Camera is a creative way for our community to capture exciting moments while being part of the memory – like rocking out at a music festival, or everyday moments like your culinary adventures in the kitchen.”

This Dual Camera feature was actually originally announced back in April but now it looks like it’s finally making its way to users. According to Snap, the feature will initially be available for iOS users first, but it is expected to eventually make its way onto Android devices in the coming months.
