Here’s what we can expect from Vivo’s next foldable smartphone

0

Earlier this year, Vivo debuted its first ever foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold. While Vivo might be a little late to the party, it seems that the company is wasting no time in catching up because according to the rumors, the company could actually have another foldable phone in the works called the Vivo X Fold S.

Now thanks to a post on Weibo by leakster Digital Chat Station, some details about the upcoming phone have been revealed. This includes how the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, feature a 4,700mAh battery, and that it will also be available in a “deep red” color.

For a bit of context, the Vivo X Fold was launched using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and had a 4,600mAh battery. This means that there are at least two possible upgrades that the Vivo X Fold S will have over its predecessor. Other than that, we’re not sure what else we can expect from the phone.

The Vivo X Fold comes with a quad camera setup on the back with a 50MP main, a 48MP ultrawide, a 12MP telephoto , and an 8MP periscope, so we expect that the quad camera setup will remain, but maybe with different cameras. The phone was also priced around $1,400, so it is possible the Vivo X Fold S will be priced around that range too.

In any case, take it with a grain of salt for now, but if the rumors are true, the phone will be announced in September.
