We’ve seen no shortage of popular video game characters make their way over to smart devices, with the likes of Mario, Sonic, and even Crash Bandicoot each getting their own mobile game spin-offs. With that said, it seems that Sony’s very own Sackboy – the star of its “Little Big Planet” series – is gearing up to make his smartphone debut soon in “Ultimate Sackboy,” a new mobile game developed by Exient.
As noted by the good folks over at Droid Gamers, it seems that the game has a full page up on the Google Play Store with several screenshots, although there’s no listed release date and device compatibility for that matter. Sony hasn’t made any word of the game either, which has been up on the Google Play Store for over a month now.
Based on the screenshots, it seems that Ultimate Sackboy will feature an “endless-runner” gameplay style, similar to other games like Temple Run and Subway Surfers. The app listing also mentions in-app purchases, although they seem to be minimal in terms of pricing.
With that said, it seems like fans of the Little Big Planet franchise and Sackboy will have to wait a bit more for an official announcement on Sony’s behalf.
