New Update Brings Galaxy Watch 5 Features to Watch 4

The launch of Samsung’s new wear-OS powered Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatch series has certainly brought the spotlight onto the company’s latest range of premium wearable devices. With that said, it was only a matter of time before we saw certain software features trickle down to Samsung’s previous-gen Galaxy Watch 4 series.

A new update via the Galaxy Watch 4 Manager app brings new watch faces as seen on the Galaxy Watch 5 and a tweaked UI over to the Galaxy Watch 4 devices, alongside the app’s version 2.2.11.22081151 update. Users can now update the app via the Galaxy Store and the Google Play Store on their smartphones.

The Galaxy Watch 5 was announced alongside the newest Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, and comes in two main variants, the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. Samsung has ditched the “Classic” model and its rotating bezel, and instead has gone for a more minimalist look this time around.

The Galaxy Watch 5 series runs on Google’s Wear OS with One UI Watch 4.5, and several health-tracking technologies such as Acc (32g) and Gyro sensors, Optical Heart Rate Sensor, Electrical Heart Sensor (ECG), Continuous SpO2 tracking, and even a Skin Temperature Sensor. They retail for around $279.99 for the base model, and $499.99 for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE variant.
