When it comes to new smartphones, usually the flagships are the ones that get all the attention. It’s not surprising given that most companies reserve all the fancy hi-tech stuff for their pricier, higher-end phones, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore the mid-rangers.
In fact, today Vivo has announced a couple of new mid-range smartphones that pack quite a bit of value in them, and they come in the form of the Vivo V25 and the V25 Pro, both of which will take advantage of Vivo’s Color Changing Fluorite AG Glass that helps give the phone’s back a different color depending on the angle users are looking at it.
The phone also features a triple camera setup that consists of a 64MP main shooter with OIS and EIS, an 8MP ultra wide angle, and a 2MP macro, and a 32MP front-facing shooter. The handset will sport a 4,830mAh battery with 66W FlashCharge support, and will run on Funtouch OS 12.
The phone will also come with a slightly similar camera setup consisting of a 64MP main shooter with OIS (no EIS), an 8MP ultra wide angle, and a 2MP macro. It also packs a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery with 44W FlashCharge support, and will also run on Funtouch OS 12.
As for the software features, Vivo is introducing a Vlog Movie camera mode that provides templates and tutorials to help guide users to record their videos. There is also the Multi-Style Portrait feature that has a motion blur effect to help create the illusion of bokeh.
There is no mention of how much the V25 will cost, but the Vivo V25 Pro will retail at around $450 for the 8GB model, and around $500 for the 12GB model. Pre-orders are live starting from today and it is expected to be available next week on the 25th of August.
