Ultimate Ears’ new earbuds are designed to fit your ears perfectly

The problem with a lot of true wireless earbuds or earbuds in general is that because all our ears are different, there might be some fitment issues. Most headphone manufacturers include multiple ear-tips so that users can find a fit that’s better for them, but for some, it isn’t perfect.

If you’re looking for a pair of wireless earbuds that will be the guaranteed perfect fit, then you might be interested to learn that Ultimate Ears has announced its latest earbuds in the form of the DROPS.

How this works is that when you place an order for the DROPS, Ultimate Ears will send you a FitKit. This is used to help take measurements of your ears that can be done via an accompanying app, and when you’re done, you ship the FitKit back to the company who will then create a pair of custom-molded earbuds for you. This process is expected to take a few weeks so clearly it’s not necessarily for everyone.

The earbuds themselves will feature 9.2mm drivers and also boast “superior” noise isolation. The earbuds are also sweat-resistant and will offer up to 8 hours of playback time, which when combined with the charging case should give users up to 22 hours in total.

That being said, while the DROPS are designed to be a perfect fit, their price isn’t. Ultimate Ears is charging $449 for a pair which is by no means cheap, but if you’ve always had trouble finding earbuds that fit, then maybe this could be an investment worth making.
