With chat apps such as LINE, it comes with features that allow users to create their own virtual avatar. This is an alternative to users looking for photos/pictures online or using their own photos. Now it looks like a similar feature could be coming to WhatsApp.
This is according to a report from WABetaInfo where they discovered that WhatsApp is working on a new tool that lets users create their own avatar. In addition to creating their own avatar, it seems that users will also be able to use these avatars as stickers that users can send in their chats.
If this sounds familiar, it is because it is kind of similar to Apple’s Memoji. For those who don’t use an iPhone or iPad, a Memoji is basically where users can create avatars that they can use to represent themselves in their profile pictures. It can also be used as emojis/stickers when sent using a messenger app like iMessage or WhatsApp, for example.
While the exact details of WhatsApp’s avatar creation tool aren’t too clear yet, from what we know and what we’re seeing, it seems rather similar. If you’re a WhatsApp user looking to create their own avatar, then this could actually be a feature to look forward to when it eventually gets released.
