Google expands Play Games beta to more countries

Earlier this year, Google made a surprising announcement when they announced that Play Games would be coming to Windows PCs. This would effectively allow PC owners to play Android games on their computer. The initial beta only covered a few countries, but as discovered by 9to5Google, Google has expanded on its availability.

According to the Google support page, it now lists Australia and Thailand as countries that will be able to participate in the beta. Prior to this, the only countries that supported the feature included Hong Kong, Korea, and Taiwan, so with this addition, it brings the total number of supported regions to five.

It is still an extremely short list which means that there are still a ton of countries that won’t be able to participate in this beta. We’re not sure why more countries aren’t supported yet, but presumably it is possible that maybe Google just wanted to start off small just to see how things play out.

The company did state that they do have plans to eventually expand to other regions later this year and in the future, but for now, those living outside of those regions are out of luck. For those who are fortunate enough to participate in the beta, according to Google, these are the system requirements your PC will need in order to play:
