OnePlus has been steadily releasing the Android 12 update to some of its newer phones like the OnePlus 9 series, but if you happen to still be holding onto an older OnePlus phone like the OnePlus 7 series, then you’re in luck because it looks like the company is getting ready to push out the update for its 2019 flagship phones.
In a post on its forums, OnePlus has announced that the OxygenOS 12 Open Beta is now available for both the OnePlus 7 series and OnePlus 7T series. Keep in mind that this is a beta which means that it isn’t the final release yet, meaning that there could still be some bugs that have yet to be ironed out, but at the same time, seeing as it is an open beta, it means that OnePlus is relatively confident that there shouldn’t be any major issues.
The OxygenOS 12 beta will pretty much bring all the Android 12 features that Google had previously announced, along with some other features OnePlus is adding. We’re talking about features like a new Smart Battery Engine that’s meant to help prolong battery life, a new HyperBoost to help stabilize frame rates while gaming, and a more customizable dark mode.
We’re not sure when the final release will be available for the phones, but given that this is an open beta, we imagine that the final and stable release shouldn’t be too far off.
