A new software update has arrived for Samsung’s budget Galaxy A12, which comes with some new fixes to improve security issues with the phone, as well as general device performance. The update is currently live for users in India.
The new software update for the phone comes with firmware version number A127FXXU5BVF2, and features the June 2022 security patch. The new update is intended to address several different privacy and security issues (66 according to the source), and improvements for overall system stability. It should be said however that the update is only available for this variant of the Galaxy A12 with model number SM-A127F (the earlier release of the phone uses a different processor).
Previously, the Galaxy A12 “Nacho” received the Android 12 system update alongside One UI version 4.1, which introduced some new features, like Samsung’s “Color Palette” feature, which takes some inspiration from Android 12’s “Material You” customization feature. Additionally, visual redesigns for some of the first-party Samsung apps and widgets, were also included in the update.
To check if your phone is eligible for the update, simply head into your Settings App, tap on “Software Update,” followed by “Download and Install.” This should prompt the phone to scan and install the latest update.
