Xiaomi’s Black Shark series of gaming phones has been steadily growing in popularity, with the latest models, the Black Shark 5 series, being announced earlier this year. The phones were initially announced for the China market, but those living in other parts of the world are in for good news.
This is because Xiaomi has officially announced that the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro will be going global. The phones will be available for purchase either via the Black Shark website, Amazon, and AliExpress where they will be priced starting at $550 for the Black Shark 5, and $800 for the Black Shark 5 Pro.
For those learning about the phones for the first time, the Black Shark 5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, while the Pro model will feature the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Both phones will be offered with 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM variants, but the Pro model has a third tier at 16GB.
Both phones will also feature a similar 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rates. Their battery sizes are also similar at 4,650mAh with support for 120W fast charging.
On the camera side of things, both phones will have a triple camera setup, but the Pro will feature a 13MP wide angle lens, a 108MP main shooter, and a 5MP telephoto, while the base model will feature a 13MP wide angle camera, a 64MP main, and a macro camera.
