More Galaxy XCover 6 Pro Leaks Show Upcoming Phone

We might be getting closer and closer to the launch of Samsung’s latest rugged smartphone, also known as the Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro. New leaks online show updated product renders of the smartphone, as well as information regarding the hardware specs of the device.

A report from Giznext shows off some hardware renders of the phone, courtesy of online tech informant @Onleaks. Based on the new renders, it seems that the XCover6 Pro will feature a rather basic-looking design, save for the rugged polycarbonate construction that surrounds the external chassis of the smartphone. The phone comes in an all-black paint job, with red accents around the power and volume buttons. The phone will also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rarity on most smartphones these days.

It looks like the phone will come with a rather basic screen, in the form of a TFT display with a 1080 x 2408 pixel resolution. There’s no mention of a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate, which is an interesting hardware choice given that most phones these days feature screens with high refresh rates. The phone will also pack a 4,050 mAh battery inside.

It’s expected that the XCover6 Pro might run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, the report mentions that there’s currently no word on other storage variants. In terms of cameras, the phone will be equipped with a 50MP main camera, alongside an ultrawide lens, which might either be an 8 or 12MP sensor, as well as a 13MP front camera on the notch.

The Galaxy XCover6 Pro is expected to launch soon, although there’s no word from Samsung yet regarding an official release date.
