Samsung’s earlier announcement that it will improve its software update releases for its smartphones has proven to be a statement that the company takes seriously. In the past few weeks, we’ve seen a lot of Samsung handsets receive updates either with a full upgrade to Android 12 or in the form of security patches. More recently, the company’s budget Galaxy A12 Nacho (also known in some regions as the A12s) has finally received Android 12 alongside One UI 4.1.

The new software update for the phone comes with firmware version number A127FXXU5BVE4, and features the May 2022 security patch. The new update is intended to address several privacy and security issues. As of the moment, the update is currently available in Russia, and it’s expected that Samsung will gradually roll out the update to more European regions in the upcoming days.

One UI 4.1 also comes with Samsung’s “Color Palette” feature, which takes some inspiration from Android 12’s “Material You” customization feature. Additionally, visual redesigns for some of the first-party Samsung apps and widgets, are likewise included in the latest update.

To check if the new update is available on your phone, simply head into the Settings app, navigate to “Software Update,” and select “Download and Install.”
