Earlier this year, Oppo announced their first ever tablet, the Oppo Pad. The company is a little late to the tablet game, but it seems that they are not wasting anymore time catching up because they have since unveiled the second tablet in their lineup with a kind of familiar name, the Oppo Pad Air.
According to Oppo, the specs of the tablet includes a 2K display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset can be found accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory. There are also a set of quad speakers built into the tablet along with a 7,100mAh battery with 18W charging support.
If the Oppo Pad Air sounds a little plain to you, it is because it is most likely being positioned as a cheaper alternative to the Oppo Pad which comes with much better and powerful hardware. Not much else is known about the tablet and its features and whether or not there will be support for the Oppo Pencil that debuted with the Oppo Pad.
There’s also no mention of pricing on Oppo’s website, but like we said, based on what we know now, it probably won’t be too expensive. For context, the Oppo Pad is priced at CNY2,299 which is pretty decent, so hopefully the Pad Air will be a lot more affordable. The company does have a date on its website set for the 23rd of May, so presumably more details will be shared then.
