Users can now link data from Fitbit and Google Fit to Google Assistant

With Google now officially owning Fitbit, the good news is that if you want to link up your data from your Fitbit device to Google Assistant, you will be able to do just that. This means that if you, for whatever reason, use Google Assistant to access your health data, you will be able to pull data from Fitbit as well.

Keep in mind that Fitbit users will still need to use the Fitbit app as it is expected to remain separate from Google Fit for now, but this integration will make it easier for users to pull up their Fitbit data on devices like the Google Nest Hub, which Google has highlighted on its support page.

This will make it useful if you want to see your biodata at a glance on the Nest Hub, as opposed to taking out your phone. Also, another thing to note is that only one can be active at a time, according to 9to5Google’s findings, but presumably Fitbit users would be using the Fitbit app anyway so unless you happen to own more than one smartwatch, this shouldn’t really be an issue for most users.

Right now, the update is being rolled out as we speak, but it appears that not all users are seeing it yet so if you don’t see the integration just yet, don’t worry as it should eventually make its way to you.
