A few weeks ago, it was rumored that Sonos was working on a new soundbar that would be priced affordably. For those who might be fans of Sonos’ products, then you might be interested to learn that the company has since taken the wraps off its latest soundbar, the Sonos Ray.
Sonos has several soundbars under its belt like the flagship Arc which is priced at $899. Then there is the Sonos Beam that is priced more affordably at $449, but the new Sonos Ray is priced at $279, making it the most affordable out of the entire lineup and a great addition to your living room.
According to Sonos, the new soundbar will feature the use of “advanced processing” to help create a wide soundstage. There will be support for AirPlay 2 that will make it easy for iOS users to connect their devices to it. The speaker also supports a variety of streaming services, such as Tidal, Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and more.
Also, one thing to note about the Sonos Ray is that the company has removed the HDMI eARC port, meaning that it only supports optical input in terms of physical connectivity. Apparently the company thinks that people who buy the Ray are those who already have the more expensive Arc or Beam and want another soundbar to complement their setup.
For those who are interested in the Sonos Ray, it is expected to go on sale on the 7th of June in the US, Canada, and other countries.
