Back in 2018, Blizzard unveiled a new chapter in the Diablo franchise called Diablo Immortal. It basically brought the Diablo franchise over onto mobile devices, but for years it was unclear when the game would launch, at least until now where the company has finally set a release date for the 2nd of June, 2022.
What’s interesting and slightly odd is that the initial reveal suggested it was a mobile-only game, but now according to Blizzard’s announcement, it seems that it will be launching on both mobile devices and for PCs too. This means that you can play on your PC and then pick up where you left off on your phone.
There is also support for cross-play which means that you can play on the go with your friends who might be playing at home. There will be six classes to choose from – Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard, all of whom are classes that existed in previous Diablo games, so there won’t be any new classes.
For the most part, the game looks like Diablo 3 which isn’t a bad thing as it retains a lot of the look that Diablo games are known for. For gamers who are interested, they can pre-register their interest on Android and iOS. It appears to be free-to-play but we wouldn’t be surprised if there will be in-app purchases introduced later on.
