Usually one of the things we tend to hope for when it comes to new phones, it would be an increase in battery size. Phone batteries these days still don’t last as long as we would like, so while faster charging is great, larger batteries would be better. Unfortunately, that might not be the case with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
According to certification spotted in Korea by Galaxyclub.nl, it seems that the battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 might have been revealed where combined, it is expected to have a rated capacity of 4,270mAh. For those unfamiliar, the Galaxy Z Fold series actually utilizes two batteries that are combined.
Why we are saying that this could be a bit disappointing is because with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, it had a rated capacity of 4,275mAh which was then rounded up and marketed as 4,400mAh. It is assumed that this will be the case with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, meaning that essentially, the batteries have not changed.
That being said, that does not mean that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have worse battery life. The phone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which should be more energy efficient than its predecessor, meaning that it is possible that with further software tweaks and optimization, we could see slightly improved battery life.
In any case, nothing has been confirmed yet so it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now.
