Samsung Formally Announces Exynos 1280 SoC

As far as mid-range Samsung phones go, the company’s latest Galaxy A53 and A33 handsets come with some decent specs like large batteries, and smooth displays, and have been promised to receive up to four years of Android OS upgrades. One “mystery” among consumers however was the chipset used inside the phones. While it’s not exactly a secret that the devices use Samsung’s Exynos 1280, there has been no previous confirmation from the company regarding the SoC in question.

Until today, that is – Samsung’s website has been updated to feature the Exynos 1280, and the company has finally given us more details on the chipset in discussion. The 1280 offers 5G capabilities, as well as “powerful yet efficient computing and graphics performance to 5G smartphones for everyone,” at least according to the company.

Samsung says that the Exynos 1280 is built on 5nm EUV process, and is optimized for power efficiency, gaming, and overall performance. Check out the detailed list of specs below:

As of the moment, only the Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33 feature the Exynos 1280, but it’s likely that we’ll see the chipset in future Samsung handsets as well.
