These days, we’re starting to see more smartphone makers not include a charging brick with their devices. To be fair, most of us probably have several USB chargers lying around at home, so while it might seem like we’re being shortchanged, it’s not as if we’re being left high and dry.
That being said, if you’re looking for a new charger for your smartphone and want something that can charge more than one device at once while being small, then Nomad’s new 65W dual-port GaN charger could be of interest to you.
For those unfamiliar, GaN stands for gallium nitride and unlike your more traditional chargers that rely on silicon, they are more energy efficient which allows them to not only be smaller, but also produce less heat. With Nomad’s new charger, it’s roughly the size of a carrying case for a pair of true wireless earbuds, so you could totally slip this into a bag or pocket and not worry about it being bulky or heavy.
It offers 65W charging which for the most part is fast enough to recharge the majority of phones out there, unless of course you have a phone that supports 80W or faster charging, then maybe you won’t be able to fully take advantage of it, but otherwise we reckon most users should be fine.
As it offers dual ports, you can charge up more than one device at once, like a smartphone, a tablet, or even a laptop (as long as it doesn’t require more than 65W). If you’re interested, you can head on over to Nomad’s website for the details.
