Vivo is expected to debut their new foldable smartphone soon, the Vivo X Fold. The official unveiling is said to take place on the 11th of April, but thanks to leaked marketing materials, we now have a better idea of what we can expect from the upcoming handset.
According to the leak, it seems to confirm several hardware features – the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the use of Zeiss lenses for the camera in which it will be a combination of a 50MP shooter with OIS and a 48MP that seems to be a wide-angle camera. Also, it suggests that the phone will come with support for Vivo’s FlashCharge tech.
The leaked image also confirms a 4,800mAh battery, a 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate with support for HDR and will also be using LTPO 3.0 display technology that on paper should be able to offer better energy efficiency. It will be interesting to see how Vivo’s foldable will hold up against the likes of Samsung, especially since Samsung is clearly dominating the market at the moment.
Then again, there’s a good chance the handset might never see the light of day outside of China, so it might be difficult for us to do a comparison. Either way, check back with us next week for the official details.
