It wasn’t too long ago that Nothing officially confirmed that they are making a brand new smartphone in the form of the Nothing Phone (1). We have no idea when the phone is expected to go on sale, which is why we were, for a little moment, ecstatic when we saw Nothing’s website which showed a phone and a “Buy Now” button.
Unfortunately, clicking on the button revealed that Nothing was simply teasing us with an April Fool’s prank. It was a good one since the phone is extremely hyped at the moment, especially given that Nothing was founded by Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, after he had left the company.
Taking a closer look, it is clear that this was a joke as the company is calling the phone listed on its website as “Another (1)” (another one, get it?). The design is kind of boring and not what we expected from the company whose Nothing Ear (1) earbuds are kind of out there as far as earbud designs are concerned.
The Nothing Phone (1) is expected to be launched in the summer of 2022, but the company will be making the Nothing launcher available in April which should give us a sneak peek at some of the customizations and features that the company could include in its phone.
