An Upcoming OnePlus Phone Could be a Realme Device in Disguise

0

Back in 2021, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9 RT, a more affordable version of the OnePlus 9 flagship phone. The company has shifted its focus to providing users with more affordable devices, which include the Nord series. With the OnePlus 10 series set to launch in more regions soon, there have been some rumors pointing to the existence of a “OnePlus 10R” model, albeit with an interesting catch.

According to a report from 91 Mobiles, OnePlus is planning to launch the OnePlus 10R this year, and the device in question happens to share a lot of similarities with the Realme GT Neo 3. For those out of the loop, Realme, OnePlus, as well as Vivo, and Oppo are all sister brands under parent BBK Electronics in China, and it’s not uncommon to see devices between the different brands share specs and design (similar to what Xiaomi and POCO do). This has led to some speculations that the 10R might simply be a rebranded Realme GT Neo 3.

As for specs, the 10R is predicted to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120hz refresh rate, a Mediatek Dimensity 8100 SoC, and will also come with 8GB and 12GB RAM versions, with options of 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. The device will also feature a triple camera set-up, as well as a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 150w fast charging. A lot of these specifications are also found on the Realme GT Neo 3, fuelling speculation that OnePlus might indeed rebrand Realme’s device as its own.

Currently, the OnePlus 10 Pro is the company’s flagship device, and runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The device was released in January this year to limited regions, although a launch in more markets is scheduled to come soon. Rumors of an upcoming OnePlus Nord 3 and OnePlus Nord Watch have also been floating around, but the company hasn’t confirmed either device at this time.
