Robot vacuum cleaners are becoming a pretty common sight these days, especially since prices on these devices have gotten lower now that the tech has kind of matured. If you happen to own one of iRobot’s Roomba robot vacuum cleaners or their Braava jet mops, the latest update might be worth checking out.

This is because iRobot has given its Roomba and Braava devices Siri support. This means that with the ability to use it with Siri Shortcuts, iOS users will be able to connect their devices to the digital assistant and use custom phrases to ask the robot to start cleaning their homes or rooms.

We should point out that the Roomba already supports voice commands for both Google Assistant and Alexa, so if anything, the support for Apple devices is a bit late, but we suppose better late than never! If you’re an iOS user who feels like voice commands would have been the perfect addition to the robot, then make sure that you grab the latest Genius 4.0 Home Intelligence update to unlock these features.

In addition to supporting Siri, the update will also give Roomba i3 and i3+ models the ability to create customizable maps, so if you only want to use the robot in very specific rooms and not the entire home, this will help with that.
