Samsung is expected to continue their assault on the foldable phone market this year with their upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Now according to a tweet by leakster Dohyun Kim, additional details about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 have been revealed.
According to the leak, it seems that Samsung could be switching over to a new UTG for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. This new glass is said to be tougher and better quality, which hopefully means that it will be able to withstand folding and unfolding more times than its predecessor.
The Galaxy Z Fold4 will have the new UTG with improved hardness and quality. It seems that they are upgrading a lot for slotting the S Pen. They are also considering setting the name as "Super UTG" instead of "UTG" for the marketing. pic.twitter.com/Jefn6Wdj5R

While all phones do have some kind of shelf life to them, foldable devices have an additional problem to contend with in the form of its flexible displays which will ultimately leave a crease after prolonged use. While the details of this new UTG are unclear, we can only hope that it means that the phones will be more durable for users who plan to keep them for the next several years.
In addition to the more durable display, the report claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will finally come with its down dedicated S Pen slot, making it easier for users to keep their stylus in the phone without worrying about losing it.
There is currently no word on when the new Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Galaxy Z Flip 4 are expected to arrive, but it should be later this year.
