Google Pixel 7 Pro Leaked CAD 6

Pixel 7 and 7 Pro leaked CAD renders reveal that Google is sticking with the camera bar

Just because it’s only been a few months since the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro were released, doesn’t mean that we can’t get excited about the future. Thanks to @xLeaks7 (via ChooseBestTech) and @OnLeaks (via SmartPrix), we’re now getting the supposed first look at both the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

Following last weekend’s report from 9to5Google which revealed that the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be powered by a 2nd-gen Tensor processor along with a new Samsung modem, these renders reveal a bit more. But truth be told, if you were hoping for some major changes to the design for either of these devices, then you’re going to be a bit disappointed.

According to these renders, Google is ready to stick with the same design as the Pixel 6 lineup, including the “cyborg” camera bar on the back. However, there are a few changes coming to the Pixel 7, including the placement of the 5G mmWave antenna as it will be placed on the top of the phone’s frame. Additionally, @xLeaks7 reveals that the Pixel 7 will be a bit smaller and thinner compared to its predecessor, measuring in at 155.6 x 73.1 x 8.7 mm (11.5 with camera bump).

Those hoping for Google to add a third camera to the Pixel 7 will be out of luck, as the renders also show that Google will be sticking with a dual-camera setup for its entry-level model. Aside from the dimensional changes, the Pixel 7 will largely retain the same design as the Pixel 6, including the placement of the buttons and in-display fingerprint scanner.

Moving over to the Pixel 7 Pro, the story is pretty much the same. @OnLeaks claims the phone will also be slimmed down a bit, but will also be wider and a little bit taller with dimensions of 163 x 76.6 x 8.7mm. Changes are also coming to the rear camera module, as the renders suggest Google could merge the visor with the frame of the phone, something that we have been seeing from other phones such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and more notably, the Galaxy S21 lineup.

None of the buttons or ports will be moved around with the Pixel 7 Pro, however, the mmWave 5G antenna window will be a bit larger, just like the renders of the “normal” Pixel 7. This could help Google combat some of the connectivity issues that have been plaguing Pixel 6 owners, so it’s good to see the company make some iterative changes, even if they are rather minor.

Finally, Google is expected to keep the same two-tone colorway for both the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro that it introduced with the Pixel 6 series. Of course, it’s likely too early in the process to know for certain what colors will be used, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Google will implement some new and fun colors even though it is keeping the same design.
