Last Summer, Sony debuted its latest set of flagship phones in the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III. However, until now, only the Xperia 1 III has been available here in the U.S., leaving its smaller brother only available in various regions. That’s all changing, as Sony has just announced availability for the Xperia 5 III here in the States.
Not only is Sony finally getting on the 120Hz refresh rate train, but the Xperia 5 III packs a pretty impressive punch. There’s a triple camera setup on the back, headlined by a 16MP wide-angle lens. This is accompanied by a 24MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP telephoto sensor. It also features a more-pocketable 6.1-inch display, something that we don’t see all that often out of flagship phones anymore.
To help entice potential buyers, Sony is throwing in its excellent WF-1000XM3 earbuds with every purchase for a limited time. These are some of the best earbuds on the market, despite being replaced by the WF-1000XM4s from 2020. Taking things a step further, Call of Duty: Mobile fans might want to consider the Xperia 5 III, as Sony is also including 43,200 COD Points, which are a value of $540. Altogether, you’re looking at almost $800 worth of freebies if you want Sony’s latest phone.
Sony is really trying to pull out all of the stops to entice those looking for a new phone, because the price tag is already so steep. Samsung just released the Galaxy S21 FE with similar specs, but with a starting price of $699. The Sony Xperia 5 III comes in at $999, which might be a tough pill to swallow. But if you’ve been waiting patiently for Sony to launch another phone here in the States, now’s your chance to grab it.
