OnePlus 10 could launch as soon as next week and steal Samsung’s thunder

Last week, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the handset will be announced in January 2022. He did not mention when exactly, but we think we might have a date and that is for the 4th of January, 2022.

This is apparently due to a listing of the phone on a Chinese retailer’s website in which they state that the handset will be available for pre-order on the 4th of January, which is actually next week. This means that the phone will most likely be announced slightly before then or on the 4th itself.

What’s interesting about this date is that Samsung will be hosting its own keynote at CES 2022 called “Together for Tomorrow” also on the 4th of January where the company could announce the Galaxy S21 FE 5G. This means that OnePlus could be looking to steal some of Samsung’s thunder with the launch of the OnePlus 10 on the date itself. Of course, whether or not they’ll be successful at drawing attention away from Samsung remains to be seen.

Samsung is after all one of the biggest players in the Android space and many are looking forward to seeing what the company has to announce, so if anything, there is a chance OnePlus could end up being overshadowed instead. Keep in mind that the company hasn’t actually announced anything yet and this date is from a retailer listing, which could be inaccurate, so don’t get your hopes up just yet.
