One of the upsides of game streaming services is that the bulk of the work is done in the cloud, meaning that any hardware bottlenecks on your end are removed. This means that you’ll be able to have the same experience whether you’re streaming onto a cheap laptop or a high-end gaming rig.
For those who play on their phones, you might be interested to learn that according to XDA Developers, they have noticed that Google’s Pixel 6 Pro has been recently added to a list of devices supported by NVIDIA’s GeForce Now service as being one of several smartphones that will be able to stream games at 120fps.
Before you get too excited, keep in mind that in order to stream at 120fps, you will need to be subscribed to GeForce Now’s RTX 3080 tier. This is a more expensive tier that will let you access one of the company’s highest-end GPUs. It is priced at $99.99 for a six month subscription, which isn’t cheap considering you’ll still need to buy your games, but if you want the best streaming experience possible, then this is it.
Also, once you’re subscribed, you will have to manually enable the 120fps mode in the app to start playing games at those settings. Other handsets supported include the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G.
