These Xiaomi 12 leaked renders make us wish it was coming to the U.S.

Here in the States, we have a few sleek-looking options when it comes to picking up the best Android phones. Samsung is obviously on top of the list, but even the OnePlus 9 Pro and now Pixel 6 Pro look and feel pretty wonderful. But if there’s one company that continues to make me get excited for new phone releases, it’s Xiaomi.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was a stunningly-gorgeous phone with a unique design and is a phone that I would consider leaving Verizon for. The problem is that Xiaomi phones are not readily available here in the U.S., leaving me to try and import one from overseas which can get pretty expensive, pretty quickly.

It looks like Xiaomi is preparing to do the same thing as it did last year with the Xiaomi 12 series. Thanks to @OnLeaks and Zoutons, new renders of the “standard” Xiaomi 12 have leaked, and this is one sleek-looking phone.

On the back, you won’t find a separate display that acts as a viewfinder for selfies and notifications. But what you will find is a rather large camera module housing a triple camera array with a cutout for the LED flash. The back and front glass look like they just melt into the frame of the phone, which likely means that the Xiaomi 12 will be comfortable to hold, even if it ends up being a fingerprint magnet.

Not only are we seeing these leaked renders, but @Onleaks and Zoutons have shared some of the key specs that the Xiaomi 12 will provide. We have obvious inclusions such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and a hole-punch selfie camera. But we’re also learning that the Xiaomi 12 will include a 5,000mAh battery, a 6.2-inch curved display complete with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

We aren’t sure whether Xiaomi will be integrating its ultra-fast wired charging, but it’s safe to assume that the Xiaomi 12 will be equipped with fast-enough speeds regardless. The Xiaomi 12 could be unveiled any day now, so it’s just a waiting game to see what the company is bringing to the table.
