Are you looking forward to the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 12, the successor to the Mi 11 launched earlier this year? Xiaomi’s phones have proven over the years to be great value for money, and the Mi 12 is a particularly exciting handset because it will be the first smartphone to debut with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
Xiaomi did not state when the phone will be launching, but it is expected this month. So much so that a recent rumor suggested that it could come as soon as this week, on the 9th of December. Unfortunately, that rumor has since been debunked by Wang Hua, head of the Public Relations of Xiaomi Group.
According to Wang, that launch date is not real. Wang claims that the photo accompanying the rumor is also apparently fake as it does not have a barcode. Either way, with this claim by the company, it looks like it is still anyone’s guess as to when the phone could be launched.
There is some speculation that maybe Xiaomi could announce the phone on the 12th of December. If they were to do that, it would make sense because it is the Mi 12 and for it to launch on 12/12 feels almost poetic. Either way, without an official announcement this is all just speculation for now.
