Amazon Echo Show 15 now available for pre-order, shipping in early December

Back in September, Amazon surprised us all with a brand new Echo Show device, as the Amazon Echo Show 15 made its debut. The mountable smart display features a 15-inch 1080p display while being able to double as a picture frame, or you can place it on a table and use it as a traditional Echo Show.

There’s a 5MP selfie camera in the top left corner, which Amazon claims will provide “Visual ID”. This is a feature that uses facial recognition to analyze different people, and then present content based on who is in interacting with the Echo Show.

While you can mount this on a wall in your home, you can also use the Echo Show 15 with a dock and place it on your kitchen countertop or on a side table. Various widgets will appear on the home screen, providing various tidbits of information about things like the weather, calendar events, and more.

In terms of sound, the Echo Show 15 is equipped with side-firing speakers, but you can also pair the smart display with another Amazon Echo or Bluetooth Speaker to really fill the room. Additionally, you’ll still be able to see who’s at the door thanks to picture-in-picture, so you don’t have to immediately stop what you’re doing.

Despite being announced a couple of months ago, the Echo Show 15 has not yet been made available. That’s all changed, as you can order the Echo Show 15 starting today, directly from Amazon. The company’s latest smart display is priced at $250, and it will officially be released on December 9th.
